Entrepreneurs for the most vulnerable
People in need of healthcare
Inequalities in access to healthcare are still too prevalent today. Care deserts, disparity in access to healthcare for people at risk or minorities… A lot needs to change in the field of healthcare.
To meet these challenges, Groupe SOS is deploying several care schemes, adapted to the different paths of people in need of healthcare.
Our actions
Our hospitals
With its hospitals, Groupe SOS complements public services and helps maintain needed healthcare in areas sometimes threatened by the progression of « care deserts » in France. We are also campaigning for the reappreciation of medical and social professions.
Home care
Groupe SOS Santé has also developed a solid expertise in medical and social assistance at home. Through our Home Nursing Services, we provide nursing care services that include technical care (injections, dressings, etc.) and basic and relational care (assistance with washing, mobility, etc.).
Healthcare with temporary accommodation
Being treated properly is a fundamental right. For some people at risk, access to healthcare can be difficult and result in delays in diagnosis, delays in treatment, or care disruption… We provide accommodation for isolated or vulnerable people to prevent their health from deteriorating and to enable good care coordination.
Health of minorities and combating discrimination
Groupe SOS is a long-standing player in the fight against HIV/AIDS and in LGBT+ health. It develops programmes and actions aimed at the groups most exposed to specific health risks. To do this, it harnesses the skills and experiential knowledge of the different communities to meet their specific health needs and challenges.
In developing countries
Health is a universal issue: even before the average income per capita, the progress of a society is often measured in terms of life expectancy. There are many regional and social inequalities in access to healthcare throughout the world, and each region is specific.
Therefore, Groupe SOS works every day in several countries to promote access to healthcare and reduce regional health inequalities.
Santé Sud
The mission of Santé Sud is to improve health throughout the world. Within a given country or continent, medical training, access to care and health crises take different forms and are influenced by cultural and regional factors. Santé Sud works on several themes: childhood and disability, community health, medicalisation of rural areas, sexual reproductive health and priority diseases.
Afghanistan Libre
Created in 1996 in response to the degradation of women’s rights under the Taliban regime, the number one goal of Afghanistan Libre is to facilitate access to education, health and professional training for as many Afghan girls and women as possible so that they can gain their independence.
